Why Is My Water Bill So High

The eight usual suspects

The meter test

Shut every fixture. Watch the meter. If it still moves, you have a leak or a toilet that lies.

Isolate irrigation at its shutoff and test again. Do not diagnose a slab until the easy valves are off.

When to call leak detection

Meter movement with toilets proved innocent. Warm floor stripes. The sound of water in a wall. Those are leak detection calls, not a new shower head.
